10 Reasons To Buy An English Goldendoodle
We may be biased, but we believe the Goldendoodle is an amazing breed that has a little bit of something for everyone who wants to add a new puppy to their home. Below, we list just a few of the many reasons why we know you’ll love having a Goldendoodle.
1. The Goldendoodle is a very healthy breed
The Goldendoodle takes on the best traits from both parent breeds, which is referred to as “hybrid-vigor”. This is a phenomenon created by a first generation breed between two unrelated breeds.
The result of this is that many of the common ailments of the parent breeds will not be as common in the resulting breed. The best traits of each breed take over, and you’re left with an amazingly healthy breed.
At Euro GoldenDoodles, we specialize in F1 and F1B litters, which means our puppies are as close as possible to the parent breeds, and keeping the highest level of hybrid-vigor possible.
2. The Goldendoodle is highly trainable, even in older ages
They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. But the Goldendoodle is known to go against that cliche.
The Goldendoodle has a unique nature of curiosity that lures them into discovering new things and figuring out problems. Their desire to learn is almost unmatched, and this doesn’t stop when they leave the puppy stage.
Owning a Goldendoodle means you will have a breed that continues to learn, and also continues to entertain and keep you on your toes!
3. The Goldendoodle is a perfect family pet
The Goldendoodle is a very popular breed for families of all sizes. But they really do shine in a home with multiple family members. Because of their very calm demeanor, the Goldendoodle pretty much rolls with the rest of the family, just taking the day in stride.
As the Goldendoodle loves to learn, they will feed off of each family member differently, enjoying every second, and you will too!
Their gentle and helpful nature also causes the Goldendoodle to be excellent around children. They tend to have a high tolerance level and while they can exhibit a large bark, they are not aggressive.
4. The Goldendoodle is only a lite shedder
Drawing from the traits of their parent breed, the Poodle, Goldendoodles are known for their low to non-shedding coats (especially in F1B litters). While the actual amount of shedding can vary, the Goldendoodle will not leave unmanageable hairy messes all over the place.
This brings the obvious benefit of not having to clean up a lot of dog hair around the house, and you may not have to protect your furniture as much as with many other breeds.
But despite this, the Goldendoodle’s coat is fluffy and soft, making them perfect cuddlers!
5. The Goldendoodle is ideal for people with allergies
This one partially stems from Reason #4. Because of the very low shedding rate, the Goldendoodle tends to leave far less dander floating around as it gets trapped closer to the skin instead of falling off everywhere as hair is lost. Because of this, the Goldendoodle has a higher success rate for those with allergies.
Of course, this doesn’t mean you or someone in your family won’t have any allergic reactions or other issues. We do recommend that you stop by for a visit and see our Goldendoodles for yourself and interact with them, in addition to checking with your doctor if you feel you have a pet allergy.
NOTE: Euro GoldenDoodles does not guarantee any degree of their puppies being “hypoallergenic”.
6. The Goldendoodle is great with other pets
If you have other pets in your home, the Goldendoodle might be a great choice as an additional pet.
Goldendoodles are not overly aggressive and tend to tolerate both people and other pets without trying to show dominance. Their gentle nature can also help to prevent other pets from becoming overly anxious or protective, as the Goldendoodle doesn’t come across as threatening.
You will also find the Goldendoodle is very much interested in playing with other pet friends, and their personality really shines when interacting with other animals!
7. The Goldendoodle is absolutely beautiful!
We don’t have to tell you this, but we believe the Goldendoodle is one of the best looking breeds you will find.
Boasting a truly unique look, the Goldendoodle can appear both majestic and gentle at the same time, and everywhere we go, people are just drawn to them!
With their soft but full coat, and eyes that just scream LOVE, you will enjoy watching your Goldendoodle in all aspects of their day.
8. The Goldendoodle is highly intelligent
It’s quite amazing to watch a Goldendoodle as they go about their day because they are extremely smart, love to use logic, and never stop learning.
It’s even been suggested that Goldendoodles are the closest thing to humans that you will find in a dog breed!
So you will find the Goldendoodle loves to interact and answer challenges, and they will go about their day with
9. The Goldendoodle is gentle, but playful
We’ve talked about just how easygoing the Goldendoodle can be, but they also love to play! In fact, they have a deep desire to play.
When you mix the Goldendoodle’s inquisitive nature with their desire to please you, you get a breed that enjoys playing games, both for their pleasure and yours!
Some dogs play rough by nature, but the Goldendoodle doesn’t tend to be that way. This makes them easy for guests to play with as well without overwhelming them.
10. The Goldendoodle is a great companion or service pet
Because of their extreme intelligence, calm demeanor, and loyal attitude, the Goldendoodles are commonly used as service animals. In fact, this is one of the reasons the Goldendoodle breed was originally created.
We also see a lot of older and disabled buyers who love the Goldendoodle for these same reasons, and they are used frequently as companion pets for those who may not have others around, or just need a little extra joy in their day!
